Why enter my email address?

Introduced in version 1.4, we have enabled a field in the configuration file called $contact_email. Entering your email address in here is entirely optional and is only used to help us improve cPBackup.

Entering your email address allows us to contact you to help us improve cPBackup and ensure any problems you are having are resolved quickly.

What happens to my email address?

If you enter your email address we will store your email address with the license key for your domain in our database. It will be updated in our license database when you run your backup as cPBackup checks for a valid license via HTTPS and a form of obfuscation.

How often will you contact me?

We will send an email to you usually once every few months, this is a manual and personalised process, we will just ask you to comment on cPBackup and tell us how we can improve it.

Will anyone else have my email address apart from cPBackup?

NOPE! Every day we get hundreds of emails after signing up for accounts at this that and the other, and we hate the spam emails too. Your email address will be stored in our database in an obfuscated format, and we will NEVER give your email address to anyone else.

How do I remove my email address from your database?

Simply remove your email address from your configuration file and run a backup. This will clear the email address we have stored.
