How it works

Connect → Schedule → Backup → Restore

A simple workflow built around fast recovery — backups are stored in the native cPanel (cpmove) format so restores can start immediately (no rebuilding or conversion).

1) Connect your source

Add your domain/hostname, cPanel/WHM username, and an API token. No password sharing.

2) Choose location

Pick your preferred backup location when creating a profile (destination is fixed per profile).

3) Schedule + retention

Choose daily/weekly/monthly schedules and how many restore points to keep.

4) Backups run automatically

Backups are stored offsite and kept in the official cPanel (cpmove) format.

5) Restore fast with wget

Each backup includes a secure wget URL so you can download straight onto your destination server (root SSH).

6) Restore using WHM

Restore using WHM’s official “Transfer or Restore a cPanel Account” tool. Full steps on the restore page.

Why native format matters

No rebuild step before you can restore

Many backup tools store data in their own format and must rebuild/convert before a restore can begin. cpbackup.net stores backups in the native cPanel format, so restores can start immediately — especially important during incidents.

Official cPanel backup structure

Stored exactly how cPanel expects — designed for clean full restores.

Server-to-server restores

Use the secure wget URL to pull backups directly onto your server — faster than PC download + re-upload.

No proprietary lock-in

Backups remain usable in standard cPanel workflows — no special restore software required.
